Comfort and Care During Dental Procedures

At the Oral Care Company, we provide sedation dentistry to ensure your comfort throughout dental treatments. This service is particularly helpful for individuals who experience dental anxiety or are undergoing extensive procedures. We offer two primary sedation options.

Intravenous Sedation

With intravenous sedation, a mild sedative is administered via a small injection in your arm. Shortly after receiving the injection, you will begin to feel deeply relaxed. While you remain awake during the procedure, your anxiety will be significantly reduced and you will likely have little recollection of the treatment. It is important to arrange for someone to accompany you home afterward.

Inhalation Sedation

Inhalation sedation utilises nitrous oxide, commonly known as ‘laughing gas’, which you inhale to decrease sensitivity and promote relaxation. You will stay fully conscious during your dental work, and the effects of the gas dissipate quickly once the treatment is finished. Side effects from inhalation sedation are uncommon.
